Cooperative Games

Teach your kids that it’s fun to work together!
Cooperation is the key to any fun family activity, and what better way to teach your kids the enjoyment of teamwork than by playing games with them?
Having your kids work together as a group and for the good of the group in a game encourages them to develop high social dynamics, and influences the actions they take wherever they go: at home, at a school project, and even with their friends. Cooperation and teamwork are valuable assets in your child’s future, so training them at the earliest possible age will give them a great head-start for a better tomorrow.
Having children work with their peers also fosters respect and compassion. When one of their own suffers a small defeat, all the others rush in and help him; compared to a traditional game where when one gets a little down, the others rejoice in his misfortune. Cooperative games improve a child’s ability to show empathy and encouragement. They learn to share in winning and losing, to encourage and show compassion.
Show your kids the value of working together as a group starting at home, today! Sharpen their minds and polish their hearts. You can be sure that every game you play with your kids binds your family together all the tighter.
Mermaid Island introduces an engaging and fun time for your kids, while teaching them how to work together and help each other out. Up to six players can team up in the game to take down the evil Sea Witch before she gets to Mermaid Island. Collect wants to defeat the Witch, but don’t let her get to your mermaids or you’ll have to start over!
The game features a unique play-style where the players help each other out, developing your child’s logic, sociability, and teamwork skills while spending quality time with them; and with minimal reading required you can be sure even the youngest in the family can help out.
Get your kids off that couch and into a bright future with these innovative cooperative games and watch as they grow into the children you want them to be!

On Sexual Harassment in the US Workplace

-On Sexual Harassment in the US Workplace-

Think Sexual Harassment and you’re liable to have an image of men assaulting women pop up in your head. Everyone knows what Sexual Harassment is; it involves someone overpowering someone else in the interest of initiating activities that are sexual in nature.
What they don’t know is, the rise of a recent trend in workplace incidents regarding Sexual Harassment filed by men.
In the outside world, where it is easily acceptable to be thinking that males can easily overpower females, the old perception may still be valid. Not so in the workplace. With the recent rise of female employment accounting for 62.4% of the United States’ total population, and the increasing number of women given a major position in companies, it seemed inevitable, and yet highly unexpected.
Statistics for 2010 show that 16.4% of the total Sexual Harassment cases are being filed by men against their superiors, with an estimated $48,400,000 having been paid in Settlement; an interesting number considering the number of women in positions of power have been ranging from 10-17% in the past years.
This has become a certain issue among workplace colleagues, as Sexual Harassment claims can be very obscure, but can cost the company and the employees both more than a fair amount of cash. As such it has been a noticeable trend to hold Sexual Harassment Trainings in the workplace, because apparently, women have just about the same tendency to abuse their power as men do. And unlike the outside world, power is transitional in the workplace, and one in the position of power is as much at risk for abusing it no matter what their gender.
However, one such circumstance blunts the effect of these claims. That being that 50-60% of the total complaints being investigated end up being judged as having no reasonable cause. This can mean two things: 1.) The accusation is baseless, or 2.) The accusation is being used as a weapon against a superior, or colleague.
More than once, employees will engage in light-hearted talk at work, and some may even include talk alluding to something sexual in nature. At times like these, a concerned employee may be reporting all sorts of things, while those in mutual understanding don’t care for it at all, making for a baseless concern.
A more serious version of these is the infighting of employees, exacerbated by some being in a casual relationship. There have been many people brought down by this type of accusatory defamation. Sexual Harassment cases are very public in the US these days, and most are often sensational, especially when dealing with big companies. One party will accuse another of Harassment where there is minimal evidence, causing the case to usually be an in-house settlement, or risk the suit going public, which would potentially harm both the company and all employees in its employ. This dangerous tactic has been seen used at an alarming rate in recent years, leading to stricter ‘no relationships’ code in many workplaces.
With the increasing proximity between men and women in workplaces worldwide, it is always advised to be prudent in dealing with Sexual Harassment. Some may even cause you to throw your pride away.
Since it’s such an obscure part of law to be dealing with, those concerned should always try to keep an acceptable distance with their colleagues and superiors, watch what they say, and remember to always be and act professional!

On Genetic Engineering

-On Genetic Engineering-

What is Genetic Engineering? Ask anyone on the street and they can tell you they’ve heard of genes; ask anyone what they are and you’ll get an answer ranging from heredity to heresy. But what really is Genetic Engineering, and why does it incite such passion in the modern world?
Genetic Engineering is the term given to the process of altering living DNA, the blue-print of who we are. It involves taking a piece, a splice, of DNA from an organism and then replacing a portion of another organism’s DNA with it. Some even theorized it possible to clone an entire organism, an exact replica of the original; in the 5th of July 1996 at the Roslin Institute near Edinburgh, Scotland, that theory was proven in Dolly the Sheep, the first ever organism cloned from a single cell.
In recent years, Genetic Engineering has been making tremendous progress, even claiming to replace damaged body parts, organs, and even entire human bodies in the near future. Consequentially with great promise comes great reward, and with it great risk and controversy.
One such controversy, and perhaps one of the most sensational, is the use of Stem Cells. These unique cells have the ability to form into any cell of the original they were taken from. The potential for this extraordinary discovery has been recognized wildly by the scientific community, this being curing cancer, replacing lost limbs, healing paralysed patients, restoring lost eyesight, and even the revitalization of a worn out body, the likes often thought to exist only in science fiction.
The only problem is, viable Stem Cells can only be obtained from live human foetuses.
Not to say there are no other sources of Stem Cells, but for these sensational therapies to be conducted, there are two requirements: One being that the Stem Cells must be self-replicating, and the other being it should be able to replace any form of damaged tissue; characteristics shared only by the Stem Cells of a Blastocyst, an early form of a the human foetus.
With this controversy in light, it was only a matter of time before the Pro-Life and Catholic masses started putting their proverbial foot down in protest. ‘Kill a child to save another’, they called it, and not without good reason. Extracting Stem Cells from a living foetus has more often than not proved fatal to the unborn child, and extremely damaging to the mother, emotionally and physically.
While the most avid of supporters of Genetic Engineering using Stem Cells insist that such a primitive collection of cells can hardly be called a child much less a human being, the pioneers of this new technology are actively developing alternate methods of advancing this promising branch of science and medicine. Some opt to use animal substitutes in hopes of lessening the moral demand upon them by society, unlocking new therapy options in veterinary care in the process. Some are developing ways to harvest Stem Cells from foetuses in an ‘ethical’ manner - that is - not killing both mother and child the process.
The future for Genetic Engineering Technology still remains to be seen, that much is fact.  Whether the risk will outweigh the reward, or that risk will one day be completely eliminated is something to look forward to. They say ‘Progress is born of Necessity’, and in this case, progress will indeed be a necessity in the coming years for the modern man.

The Following is an Article on Paleo Food List by the same anonymous client

New to the Paleo Diet and can’t figure out what you should and shouldn’t be eating? Most would agree that there are many conflicts as to what is, and isn’t Paleo, but fear not! This article will give you a brief, but detailed, food list for Paleo Diet so you can start eating and living healthy as well!
Let’s start with the basics. What does the usual Paleo Diet include? As a general rule, the Paleo Motto says: “If your ancestors didn’t eat it – then you shouldn’t either”. This philosophy stems from the eating habits of the Palaeolithic or Cave Men, who were by and large, hunter-gatherers.
So this means to start on the Paleo Diet, there are several categories of food you’ll have to keep your eye on:
Lean Meat - A top choice for the Paleo. These consist of meat with little to no fat content: Turkey, Bison Sirloin, Skinless Chicken, and Venison are all examples of lean meat. This type of meat is high in protein and promotes body tissue repair and muscle build-up. If you’re still hesitant about the meat you’re buying, avoid the ones that look greasy or have yellow linings, as those are most definitely fat deposits, which we want to avoid.
Eggs - Considered a high energy source for the Paleo. We want to keep the eggs at a maximum of six times a week however, and not all at once! These small but formidable poultry products pack a ton of nutrients in a small package, and can do more harm than good if taken in excess. For your preference, you can try Duck, Goose, or Chicken Eggs of the Omega-3 variety.
Organ Meat - Simply meaning meat from the organs of animals: Livers, Tongues, Marrow, and Sweetbread. Although we want to avoid marrow for those with chronic hypertension, as this will increase blood pressure when eaten. The others are good to go for everyone, and in particular the liver of any animal is rich in iron, important to healthy blood and circulation.
Game Meat – As any experienced hunter will tell you, wild animals, or Game, are highly devoid of fat in their bodies, preferring to concentrate them in one place for storage or hibernation, such as an Alligator’s Tail or a Bear’s Skin, which are easily removed. Once devoid of the unwanted fatty areas, Game can be harvested for an abundance of lean meat, which by some, is better than domesticated lean meat in terms of nutrients. Recommended are the meat of snakes, bear, alligator, wild boar, turkey, deer, and other wild animals. Make sure to get meat fresh from the hunt!
Fish/Shellfish – The main diet of our coastal ancestors. Fish and Shellfish bring a lot of important minerals from the sea and onto our tables. In particular: the mineral Iodine, a key component in healthy blood cell haemoglobin and crucial to preventing Anaemia.
Fruits/Vegetables – The timeworn combo of Fruits & Veggies is always a part of any healthy diet, and most particularly in any Paleo. These are our main source of vitamins and minerals, from Vitamin A to the mineral Zinc. Moderation is advised for Dried Fruit however, as we don’t want to saturate our systems with too much sugar; otherwise, a smooth skin and clear eyesight is always the work of fruits and vegetables!
Nuts – Some call it a high-fat food source, and they would be right. However, these small finger-food snacks give a different type of fat: unsaturated fat. This type of fat is actually an integral part of the human metabolism, and promotes good nerve function and energy level, some even saying increases sexual libido.
So now you know what to put in your Paleo Diet! I hope that this food list for Paleo Diet has helped you in making your own dietary plan for you and your family, and for the better and healthier lifestyle it brings. Just remember that it is always up to you to decide what to eat, and being healthy in Paleo is a decision that is sure to bring life and happiness to you and your family.

The Legend of Thanatos Tower and The Endless Tower Part 2 [Ragnarok Online Fan-fiction]

Three years after the discovery of the Thanatos Memoirs, another similar Memoir was found by an adventurer inside a huge tower sitting on a tiny island due east of Alberta. The adventurer could not explain how he came to be in possession of the documents however, as he seemed to have lost his memory. The manuscript, on the other hand, can tell us this much:

After losing his friend to the darkness, Sieger sought a way to end the cause of his misery, which was Krothen. He trained for 20 years in isolation after that, getting stronger and stronger and gaining mastery of his twin blades  Alvhan of the Sealing and Elkhan of the Banished.

Each day during those years only hatred and despair consumed Sieger and drove him forward. He was so bent on vengeance that his blades reacted to him.

Corrupted by his Hatred, Elkhan of the Banished burned red, and manifested an aura so sinister it appeared to burn Sieger's body with an unholy flame when he weilded it.

Tainted by his Despair, Alvhan burned blue with the chill of misery, entwining Sieger's body in a cold embrace that manifested in a chilly fire that froze the very air around him.

At that moment, Sieger knew what had happened to him. It was the very thing that Thanatos described having happened to him during his fight with Morroc. His emotions were fueling magic, and consuming him. Having no inherent magical ability however, Sieger could not resist its corruption, and had to constantly hold on to his blades and use their magic to preserve his sanity.

Thus began Sieger's crusade against Krothen. Having mastered his Rage and Despair and embraced it, Sieger named himself 'Naght Sieger', the Conqueror of the Darkness. He journeyed to the Tower east of Alberta, where he knew Krothen to be hiding. He still held on to Krothen's spine, and it knew its body was near.

The inside of the tower had become a fortress in those 20 years. Krothen, unable to move, unable to relocate his mangled body, was forced to fortify his existence with demon summoning. The tower was filled with these, and all imaginable evil gathered there under Krothen's command.

Sieger strode forward nonetheless, slaying demons thoughtlessly and rising up the tower until he almost scraped the sky. It was not until he was high up in the tower that he realized all the demons he had slain were collecting inside his enchanted blades. It was too late, and the demons' souls had begun fusing with his.

He could barely retain his sanity even as he came to confront Krothen, repressing the demonic influence with sheer force of will.

Their battle did not last too long. Sieger, amplified by the demonic souls and his own power, merely banished all of Krothen's magic with Elkhan, and struck him down with Alvhan to seal his soul. Krothen's soul then fused with Sieger's, leaving the immortal husk of bones behind.

No further accounts were written after that...and it would be unwise for the travelers to see firsthand what had become of Krothen, Sieger, and Thanatos; considering the rather formidable peril each of their tombs hold.

It is also unclear how exactly that one traveler had managed to go so high in the tower to get the memoir, for it had been written and signed by Sieger himself in his last moments

It would have been a greater mystery, and it is, since that same traveler vanished himself after delivering the documents.

The Legend of Thanatos Tower and The Endless Tower Part 1 [Ragnarok Online Fanfiction]

Thanatos Tower!
The Mage-Knight Thanatos battled the demon Morroc for ten days and ten nights in the southern provinces of Midgard. The destruction left in their wake desolated the area and turned it into what is presently called the Sograt Desert. After this climactic battle, he sealed Morroc in an underground cavern and placed a seal on him so that he would never rise again. Reinforcing this seal was a castle built upon his tomb, enchanted within its walls, ancient spells and powerful wards that kept the powerful demon restrained. Thanatos disappeared thereafter, never to be seen again.

In time settlers returned to the area and built a new settlement around the castle, and they named their town after the Demon sealed there and was henceforth named the desert town of Morroc. As for the Mage-Knight Thanatos, no man knew what befell him.

Until now.

Several journals found inside a mysterious tower in the Central Continent provided new light as to what happened to one of Midgard's most powerful heroes.

Following the sealing of Morroc, Thanatos fled his homeland, haunted by the memories of his failure to save his family and friends. He headed east, through the jungle, in search of solace and isolation. There he was found by a young Knight by the name of Sieger, a loyal vassal of Payon's emperor and General of the Payon Military.

Young Sieger pulled him out of his isolation and brought him back the joy of friendship. Thanatos became good friends with Sieger and a man named Krothen, the Emperor's closest adviser. He decided to put down his sword forever and settled down for a while.

It was during the third year of his stay at Payon that a grave thing happened. The emperor fell ill, and seeing an opportunity, the ambitious Krothen tried to take advantage of this and staged a coup. He failed, however, but not before killing the emperor. Sieger, grieved by the betrayal of his friend, and the death of the man he considered his second father, rode out in a rage and tracked down the traitor to a strange tower deep in the central continent. Thanatos rode after him, but he was no tracker, and found the tower one day later than Sieger.

It was a tower shrouded in red mist and had the stench of demons about it, but Thanatos knew his friend was
in danger, and remembering his past, swore to do everything he could to save Sieger. He climbed up the tower in haste, battling demons and corrupted angels along the way. He was on the door of the final floor when he felt something inside him break.

Upon opening the final door, Thanatos stood at the top of the tower, and his eyes met a sight most grim. His friend Sieger, with a claw through his chest, was dying in front of his eyes; mauled by a friend who had mutated himself into a demon in his greed for power. Krothen had killed Sieger.

Thanatos snapped at that moment, and he did something that would damn him for all eternity. Using his magic in an unconscious burst of rage, he summoned the most powerful demon he could and elicited the power of Muspelheim's ruler, the Demon Lord Surtr. He revived Sieger first, knowing that Surtr's burning essence would flow into him until he was overwhelmed with an unstoppable rage.

He was sucessful in healing Sieger, however the rage overwhelmed him soon after and Thanatos rampaged and tore apart Krothen in his fury. Krothen had become immortal however, and could not die however much he was obliterated. Krothen saw he was outmatched and used his will to teleport his remains away from the rampaging Thanatos. Thanatos grabbed his spine before he got away however, and robbed the dismembered Krothen of his mobility, magical or otherwise, forever.

Lacking a visible target, Thanatos turned to Sieger who had regained consciousness. He raised his sword to strike, but could not. For a moment he regained control of his rage, and in a last act of sanity, asked his friend to kill him with Krothen's spine, which was the only thing that could harm him in his state.

Sieger picked up Krothen's bony spine, and its magic reacted to him and formed a large, jet-black, broadsword made of bone. Tears in his eyes, he slashed through his friend's body. The magic of Krothen's spine split apart Thanatos' remaining vestiges of self.

His Despair, which broke him down to nothing
His Misery, which tore him apart piece by piece
His Agony, which ate at his last vestiges of sanity
His Hatred, which consumed his reason

These vestiges of Thanatos formed into avatars of power, roaming the tower relentlessly, preventing anyone from reaching the top. Thanatos' memory itself tore from his body and formed a living spirit of power, retaining all his skills and abilities including that of Surtr's.

However, without his negative emotions to feed upon, Surtr's violence was restrained, and Sieger was able to seal Thanatos' memory at the top of the tower, protected from his other avatars by the magic of the tower itself.

As for Thanatos' body, Sieger took it with him down the tower and buried it somewhere hidden. The journal found inside Thanatos Tower gave no mention of his final resting place, and it remains a mystery even today.

As for Sieger, he was never found again after that, and the journal tells no more.

To Be Continued...
